Impact Statement Volunteers who visit residents and tenants one on one, provide an important weekly social interaction for seniors who may be lonely and have few family members visiting.

Description Volunteers are needed to visit one-on-one with residents once a week, visiting residents who maybe isolated to provide socialization and companionship.
Depending on the residents interests, volunteers might spend time visiting in their rooms, going for walks, working on the computer, or playing games.
Volunteers should be friendly, outgoing and have excellent communication skills. They must be able to work independently.
We are looking for a Russian speaking volunteer.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Volunteer orientation is provided and introductory visit. Games, books, puzzles, music, art and manicure supplies are available for use. Working Conditions: Volunteer will be visiting unsupervised, usually in the resident's room or somewhere in the Home. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime Female Russian speaking volunteer preferred.
