Impact Statement The Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival is an annual week-long event that brings government, industry and educators together to teach children the importance of groundwater and their role in protecting and conserving our most important natural resources.
The festival offers hands-on activities, discussions, demonstrations, displays and exhibits for children in grades two to five that will challenge them to consider the importance of groundwater to them as individuals and to our communities.

Description Participate with us to help educate close to 5,000 students about respecting and conserving valuable water resources. We have different opportunities and roles for you.
Volunteer in person during the festival to deliver exciting activities and other duties. The festival promises a day filled with excitement and learning. Here’s a sneak peek of what attendees can look forward to:
Fun Games and Activities: Engaging games that teach essential water concepts while keeping kids entertained. Kids can learn about water filtration, conservation techniques, and the science behind groundwater. Expert Presentations: Talks and demonstrations by environmental scientists and local water specialists who will share their knowledge and passion for water, groundwater, extraction, treatment and protection.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Training and supervision will be provided by Festival on the day of the event. Working Conditions: - Wear comfortable shoes as you will spend most of the day standing - Wear something that you can put a Children’s Groundwater Festival apron over (provided for the day). You will get one in the morning when you arrive. It lets students, teachers, and parents know that you are an activity leader. - Activities run rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. Chances are, you will be outside most of the day. Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty or wet. - Volunteers will receive free lunch and snacks Accessibility: Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route
