Description
Join us in celebrating Black girl excellence in this 6 weeks hands-on black hair care program. Hair Joy is a 6-week interactive program designed to educate, empower, and celebrate the beauty and significance of Black hair. This program is for girls ages 13-18 to learn essential techniques to care for and style their hair. it would also include entrepreneurship opportunities in the hair industry.

We are looking for volunteers 18 years and above. This program would hold every Thursday 5:30pm - 8:00pm at Chandler Mowat Community Centre, Kitchener for 6 weeks. From May 1st to June 5, 2025

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:
Volunteers will arrive few minutes early to assist with program setup. During the program, you will assist participants, provide activity information, help with activities, etc. After the program ends, volunteer would stay few minutes to assist with cleanup.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: We are committed to ensuring our volunteers feel confident and prepared for their roles. Training sessions will be held via Zoom ahead of the event to provide an overview of responsibilities and expectations. Additionally, on-site training will be provided on the day of the event to review final details, address any questions, and ensure everyone is ready to contribute to the success of the event.
Working Conditions: Volunteers will work indoors at Chandler Mowat Community Centre, Kitchener. Indoor activities include assisting with setup, workshops, and participant support which may require standing or walking for short periods.
Transportation: On a bus route
