Description
Independent Living Waterloo Region is looking for volunteers to join its Board of Directors.

Board members are expected to:
• Understand financial statements and fulfill fiduciary responsibilities.
• Attend six-eight meetings annually plus committee work
• Represent ILWR in the community
• Fulfill a 3-year term, renewable twice

We are seeking applicants with expertise in:
• Governance
• Informatics/ technology
• Government relations
• Legal
• Lived experience of disability

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Board orientation and training available.
Working Conditions: Quarterly meetings and sub-committee meetings as acquired.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening
Regular meetings occur late afternoon/early evening
