   About the Position

Impact Statement
Residents of Waterloo Region have benefited over decades in deepening their community connections, working hands-on on issues that matter to them, and building up social safety networks for their families, communities and especially for the underserved equity deserving groups. We bring people together to lead and shape the lives from the grassroots up.

The OESP is an Ontario Energy Board (OEB) program that lowers electricity bills for lower-income households. The OESP provides a monthly credit to eligible customers based on household income and household size. The OESP credits are applied directly to eligible customers’ bills.

Description
Volunteers will complete applications for low-income people in Waterloo Region. The responsibilities include the following:

1. Communicate with clients using email and phone
2. Reviewing proof of income
3. Completing OESP applications on the web portal
4. Following up on issues with applications

Age: 18+

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Provided by Social Development Centre Administrative Coordinator
Working Conditions: On-site twice a week, working alongside another volunteer.
Accessibility: Accessible work space
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Daytime
9:30 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday and Wednesday
