   About the Position

Impact Statement
Founded in 2001, rare Charitable Research Reserve is a charitable organization that owns, stewards and protects in perpetuity a nearly 1500-acre land reserve.

Description
The rare Charitable Research Reserve is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support rare’s 6th annual Spring Plant Sale & EcoMarket. This is a fundraising event for the Food Bank Garden project at rare.

We are seeking various roles including:
- Customer service: checking in with shoppers; providing directions; restocking materials; cleaning; clearing trays; answering questions (cheat sheets will be provided).
- Parking attendants: direct traffic through the parking lot and ensure all vehicles are parked appropriately.
- rare Ambassadors & Fundraisers: Assist with EcoMarket logistics and rare booth; solicit donations on behalf of rare; manage raffle by selling tickets and organizing the draw; assist EcoMarket vendors with set-up and tear-down as needed; secure vendor merchandise while covering breaks; collect donations from vendors at the end of the day.
- Special interests such as photographer/videographer, musicians, and audio aide (to assist musicians).

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: All volunteers will be required to attend one orientation session on either date:
- Tuesday, April 29th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Thursday, May 1st from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Working Conditions: This event will be taking place primarily outdoors between the Slit Barn and EcoMarket tent.
Heavy lifting may be required.
Closed-toed shoes are required.
Must have access to transportation.
Transportation: Not on a bus route

Weekend - Daytime
The time commitment is flexible with a maximum commitment of approximately 10-15 hours and a minimum commitment of 5 hours which would include orientation and event day:
- Orientation: Tuesday, April 30th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. OR Thursday, May 2nd from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Set-up: Thursday, May 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (optional)
- Event day: Saturday, May 10th from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (including set-up and tear down; event is between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.)
