Description Supportive Roommates are an integral support to the Supported Independent Living (SIL) Program in providing daily, shared-living support to an adult with a developmental disability. In this model, there will be one adult supported in an apartment living with 1-2 Supportive Roommates who will serve as primary support throughout their living time together.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: All training provided by Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region: First Aid/CPR-C; Inclusion Workshop; Additional skills based on individual needs. All volunteers must complete an interview and screening process, including a Vulnerable Sector check. Working Conditions: Accessibility: Support volunteers with special needs, Support Newcomers Transportation: Car required
