Cafe Attendant - Long Term Care

Impact Statement Parkwood has an active volunteer program. As a volunteer, you become an integral member of the Parkwood Community along with the residents and staff. Our intention is to provide each volunteer with a meaningful and rewarding experience that also has a great value to the residents of Parkwood.
We appreciate the caring support of our volunteers and always welcome new members. We have volunteer positions available to suit your interests and availability. You will be provided with general orientation and training specific to your volunteer placement. You will always have the ongoing support of staff who are very appreciative of our volunteers.

Description Tasks include serving coffee, tea and other beverages, selling and re-stocking snack items and some light cleaning and other assigned tasks.
Volunteers must have good communication skills, English proficiency, organizational skills, comfortable handling money and have the ability to work with minimal supervision

Training Details: Training on cafe procedures and equipment is provided. Working Conditions: Parkwood Seniors Community is an accessible facility. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime A volunteer commitment of 2 hours per session - weekday - Thursday afternoons. Available to help cover other shifts if available, is an asset.
