The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region (SASC) is a community based non-profit agency. We support survivors of sexual violence. We listen, facilitate healing, and celebrate resiliency. Using an intersectional feminist approach, we work to transform systems that promote gender-based violence. Our Vision is a world without sexual violence and oppression.

Description
Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Public Education Manager, this role supports the facilitation of male allyship education for youth and adults in the community.

Ideal Candidate:
Open to male-identified students at the Master's or Bachelor's/College level, with experience in education, group facilitation, and youth work. Requires knowledge of sexual and gender-based violence, masculinity, and intersectional feminism.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Male Allies Educators to research, plan, facilitate, and debrief violence prevention programs for men and boys, including:

Male Allies Training (adults)
Young Men’s Group (grades 7–12)
Leading by Example Sports Program (youth and adults)
Assist with public education and outreach at institutions, schools, community centers, and events.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Upon the start of placement, comprehensive training on the role will be provided.
Working Conditions: This role will be performed in the community, with frequent need to travel within Waterloo Region to facilitate programming, workshops and information booths. Administrative work can be done virtually or from our office in downtown Kitchener.
