   About the Position

Impact Statement
Through our exhibitions, lectures, and special events, CAFKA develops opportunities to learn about contemporary art and participate in its making, creating memorable experiences and contributing to the creation of an engaging, animated and stimulating urban environment.

CAFKA’s Board of Directors is a working board made up of individuals with a passion for contemporary art and a drive to facilitate community engagement. CAFKA's Board leads strategy, establishes practices and policies, oversees operations and finances, and each board member actively participates in at least one committee.

Description
THE TREASURER plays a critical role in the financial management of the organization working in partnership with the Board of Directors, the Operations and Outreach Manager, the Director/Curator, and the staff of CAFKA; Reports monthly to the Board on the financial affairs of the organization, and is responsible for the oversight of the preparation, integrity, and dissemination of the financial and related information of CAFKA

RESPONSIBILITIES
You will take part in Board Committees (once a month). You will participate in fundraising and arranging sponsorships network and attend and support CAFKA events

Help Shape the future of the arts in Kitchener + Area, connect to like-minded community leaders, and contribute to shaping and engaging with the not-for-profit arts sector

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Board members are onboarded and supported in their role on an individual basis.
Working Conditions:
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening
• Serve a 3-year term (renewable to a maximum of 6 years)
• Attend monthly meetings up to 10 meetings per year
• Monthly meetings take place on the third Monday evening and last approximately 1.5 hours
