Description Volunteers will assist outreach staff with trimming nails of animals attending the clinic.
Responsibilities: Assist with welcoming the guests and ensuring all participants feel comfortable upon arriving. Assist with animal nail trimming. Assist with animal handling and restraint. Set up room appropriately, as needed for the clinic. Assist with clean up of room.
Requirements: Must be age 18 years of age or older. Must be a trained dog groomer, RVT or Vet Assistant. Must follow all HSKWSP policies and procedures. Qualifications: Must have experience trimming nails of all types and sizes of animals. Patient, calm demeanor and an interest in working with all types of animals. Ability to cope with potential emotionally stressful situations.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Volunteers will attend an on-site orientation with Volunteer Manager or designate. Ongoing training as needed. The Community Outreach Coordinator will supervise volunteers during shift. Volunteers will communicate directly with the Volunteer Manager or designate ongoing. Working Conditions: At animal shelter, working with animals and pets Transportation: Not on a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months Weekday - Daytime Time Commitment: 6 months. One shift a month, the last Thursday of each month 1:30pm-4pm.
