   About the Position

Impact Statement
The Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) is an incorporated non-profit entering with a mission to celebrate and inspire community through the shared experience of film. Through both an annual festival and year-round events, GRFF hosts local, Canadian, and international films with a programming mandate to explore diverse and unique perspectives and an aim to inspire community engagement. GRFF recognizes the power of film to connect people and works in partnership with organizations across the region to deliver impactful programming that builds relationships and encourages meaningful conversation.

Description
General Volunteers required for the following:
• Box Office - Cash management, ticket sales, complimentary ticket and wait list coordination, cash reconciliation and engagement with attendees to sign up for the electronic newsletter. They also provide general information for ticket events.
• Usher - You will be the welcoming face of the Grand River Film Festival! Volunteers will be a ticket taker, assisting guests into the theatre, coordinating wait lines, and providing general information about festival events.
• General Volunteer - Directly engage with community members and establishments for marketing the upcoming festival. Coordinate poster distribution throughout the core of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo prior to film screenings & events within the community including coffee shops, retirement centres, community centres, schools etc. Other duties as needed.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training during on-boarding.
Working Conditions: Year-round scheduling of screenings and the festival in May 2024 within the KW Region. Indoor/outdoor setting dependent on venue.
Accessibility: Support volunteers with special needs, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 3 months or less

The next event is our cineseries film showings which will be running regularly from October 2024 to April 2025.
