Youth Seed Stewards

Youth in Food Systems

   About the Position

Impact Statement
By joining our Youth in Food Systems team, you can learn about and explore food systems while gaining skills, communicating your learnings with peers, and building capabilities for future career (agri-food and others!) and personal aspirations.

Description
Youth Seed Stewards will co-lead the creation and management of the brand new Inter-School Seed Library. By joining the Steward Team, you'll be a leader in school-based food production efforts by enabling these very important inputs - seeds! - to be collected, nurtured, and distributed.

You can expect to meet with your fellow Stewards once a month for workshops, discussions, and activities. You’ll have opportunities to lead and troubleshoot seedy initiatives as key players in developing the inter-school seed library, and take part in fun community field trips.

What is the Inter-School Seed Library?
A new initiative for 2024-2025 with a goal to increase access to seeds for school based food production, and to support stronger school ground ecosystems through native plants and pollinator support. Join us at the table in building and managing this valuable resource for schools and the community.
