Volunteer Waterloo Region (VWR) supports over 150 charitable organizations in the Waterloo Region with their recruitment, retainment, and recognition of volunteers. The ONLINE resource helps local citizens find ways to make a difference by promoting local organizations and opportunities to connect to great ideas!

Description
Volunteer Waterloo Region invites you to attend our fall youth-led program called 'Invitation to Belonging'. This in person program designed for Newcomers of all generations to talk about how our cultures and families impact our choices in community involvement experiences. PARENTS and or other family members are invited to attend to help with this experience.
During this program, we will share experiences, celebrate cultures, and meet with diverse community mentors/professionals. We encourage Newcomers of all ages to attend this welcoming program. This is a space where we can all learn from each other's experiences and perspectives as we navigate 'new worlds' of communities together.
This is a great opportunity for Families, Newcomer Adults & International Students!

Position Qualifications
Ideal for: An Individual

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Training not necessary, Just complete the registration form & bring yourself!
Working Conditions: Participants are welcome to assist with helping co-facilitate conversations, assisting with setting up and cleaning after the session is completed.
This is an in-person program!
* The program runs every other Saturday at the Allen Reuter Centre in Cambridge.
*The program will run September 21, October 5, October 19, November 2, November 16, November 30
*Each session will be 2 hours long.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less
Weekend - Daytime
Every other Saturday, starting September 21, 2024 to November 30, 2024
12:00pm-2:00pm.
Details and exact dates are located in the registration form for a total of 6 sessions.
