Description Assisted Snow-Clearing Volunteer
Seeking friendly, reliable volunteers age 16 or older with good communication skills to provide snow clearing for older adults or adults with a disability •Volunteers are matched with one or more clients who live in the City of Waterloo, with efforts made to match in the same neighbourhood area •Contact client(s) within 24 hours of the end of a snowfall to schedule snow clearing •Clear snow with a shovel and salt as required – involves lifting, pushing, pulling and walking on slippery surfaces •Ensure safe snow removal practices are followed including safe lifting and dress for the cold weather (ie. appropriate boots, coat, gloves) •One season commitment is strongly preferred (November to April)

Duration: 4 - 6 months Anytime Within 24 hours of the end of a snowfall
