Impact Statement We work together as a community of peers that acts to improve the individual and community quality of life of people who are blind, deaf-blind or living with low vision.

Description Volunteers are needed to assist individuals with visual impairments who participate in different events throughout the year including our weekly bowling or curling. Participants may be required to assist clients who have mobility issues or who use service animals.
Safety and security are main issues during outings plus any help a member may require. Members of CCB, during these events, appreciate assistance with navigating their meal, mobility barriers, socializing etc. Volunteers require patience and empathy. Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Organization orientation will be provided. Monthly meetings will also help you to get to know the members' needs and the importance of the group. Working Conditions: Volunteers will be in a bowling alley setting. Specific locations will be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months Weekday - Daytime Wednesday morning for Curling at The Granite Club on Seagram Drive, Waterloo Friday afternoon 1-3pm for Bowling at Victoria Bowl on Victoria St., Kitchener
