The Business & Education Partnership of Waterloo Region (BEP) is a charity that empowers youth to explore and prepare for the world of work. Our goal is that every young person in Waterloo Region can build their paths to fulfilling careers. Members of our board of directors steer the organization in its achievement of this mission.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Shape organization’s future direction
- Set and review governing policies
- Ensure legal compliance
- Monitor financial health
- Draft meeting minutes
Qualities sought:
- Passionate about empowering youth
- Committed to excellence and continuous improvement
- Willingness to be an ambassador for BEP
- Available for quarterly board meetings and additional committee meetings
- 3 year commitment
- Knowledgeable of board governance and legal compliance is an asset

Training Details: Directors receive an orientation with other directors and the BEP Executive Director.

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening
Quarterly board meetings (typically Tuesdays from 4-5:30pm, mix of in-person and virtual) and quarterly executive meetings (1hr, virtual). All in-person meetings would take place within the Region of Waterloo, typically at the WRDSB Education Centre on Ardelt Avenue in Kitchener.
The role would begin effective our next AGM, November 28, 2023.
