Description The Volunteer Coordinator leads the recruitment, training, participation and appreciation of volunteers for our chapter. Specific responsibilities include:
-Recruit volunteers and board members, which may include advertising vacancies, networking with and making presentations to community groups, schools, businesses, clubs, etc. -Conduct interviews and screening according to guidelines -Conduct orientation and training -Coordinate volunteer participation in activities such as fundraising/awareness events and campaigns -Recognize volunteers regularly and on special occasions -Maintain accurate volunteer records -Attend monthly Chapter board meetings and present members who have been screened for approval -Lead volunteer management projects as agreed upon by the chapter board -Seek opportunities to partner within our community **When applying at the link provided, please state your interest in the Volunteer Coordinator position**

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: All MADD Canada volunteers received a standardized orientation including access to MADD Canada's online learning modules. The Volunteer Coordinator will also be onboarded and receiving ongoing support from the outgoing Volunteer Coordinator and other chapter directors. Working Conditions: Many of the responsibilities of the Volunteer Coordinator are carried out on a computer which may involve periods of sitting and requires access to ones own device, internet, etc. The Volunteer Coordinator can also be expected to attend meetings and public events in the community, both indoors and outdoors. The Volunteer Coordinator will require their own means to travel to these locations. Accessibility: Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime • 1-2 year term, 5-10+ hours / month • Volunteer interviews, reference checks, etc., can typically be scheduled according to one's own availability; some degree of flexibility during daytime business hours is helpful but not strictly essential • Many events that we plan or participate in happen on weekends, so weekend availability is helpful but not required • It would be encouraged, but not required, for the volunteer coordinator to also be a member of the MADD Waterloo Region board of directors. The board currently meets for one hour monthly, excluding July and August, in the early evening with a hybrid meeting schedule.
