Impact Statement Volunteers get an opportunity to make new friends and meet interesting people as well as having the satisfaction of making a positive difference in another person’s life. In addition, this will be an opportunity to develop new skills and abilities and give you a chance to belong to and feel part of a unique community.

Description Kitchen Helpers will assist staff to prepare and serve lunches from out of the Ray of Hope Community Center kitchen to our guests in the dining room. The role includes helping to prepare the food. Serving lunch and coffee to our guests out our serving windows. Possibly some meal prep for breakfast for the next morning, dishwashing, periodically sanitizing all work surfaces and general kitchen clean up. PPE will be supplied.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: On site training and orientation is provided. Working Conditions: Mostly standing and walking indoors in a soup kitchen type setting, frequently interacting with the guests you will be serving. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months Weekday - Daytime Volunteers are scheduled for just one shift per week at a mutually agreeable time slot. Currently available slots are as follows: Mondays: 11:00am - 2:00pm
