Impact Statement
COMPASS Refugee Centre will be hosting Ride for Refuge again this year! This is a national family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser event, with the funds raised going towards the work COMPASS does to help people seeking hope, safety, and freedom.
COMPASS is a completely donor-funded organization that supports refugee claimants in Waterloo Region and beyond. We assist, accompany, and advocate for the rights of people seeking protection, belonging, and justice.
By volunteering for COMPASS at Ride for Refuge, you will be making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This event is always such a fun day out, for participants and volunteers alike — we can’t wait to connect with you!

Description
Volunteers are such an important part of making COMPASS and Ride for Refuge a success — we couldn’t do it without you!
When you click “Apply Now” below, you will be taken to the Ride for Refuge 2024 Volunteer page. Select location: Kitchener Grand River (COMPASS Refugee Centre).
There are many volunteer roles and opportunities to choose from for RIDE; you will see the role descriptions and shifts included here.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Virtual volunteer orientation and general training will be provided prior to the event.
Event day, on-site training will be provided for specific volunteer roles.
Working Conditions: Indoor or outdoor, dependent on role.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route
