   About the Position

Impact Statement
Kitchener Public Library volunteers enhance library services in our community and make a difference every day!

(You)th Advisory Council is an opportunity for creative teens (12-18 years) to make a positive contribution to their public library by working on special projects, such as creating a podcast episode and the Teen Summer Challenge.

We are looking for students who are interested in the library and its services; willing to contribute and work on a team; respectful and supportive of the contributions of others; dependable and able to meet deadlines; and interested in creating podcasts, visual arts, and creative writing.

Age: 12+

COVID-19 Vaccination Required: Yes

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Review (You)th Volunteer Handbook and attend meetings to receive training on how to research, record and edit a podcast
Working Conditions: Library meeting room
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment

Duration: 3 months or less
Weekday - Evening
Attend one in-person meeting per month at Central Library from October 2022 – June 2023, Mondays at 3:00pm
