   About the Position

Impact Statement
The objective of the Woolwich Sledge Hockey (WSH) is to contribute to the health and well being of people with disabilities by providing opportunities in sledge hockey. Our goal is to work hard to accommodate the individual needs of each participant recognizing the uniqueness of each person with a physical disability and strive to develop them to be the best they can be.

We are currently seeking a treasurer for our Board of Directors to oversee the financial bookkeeping and budget for our organization.

The duties of this position include:
-tracking/recording all financial interactions for the organization
-accepting/depositing payments for yearly participant fees, etc.
-distributing payments for various services and products (e.g., ice time, insurance, tournament fees, etc.)
-distributing reimbursements for purchased items (e.g., equipment)
-creating and presenting a monthly financial report
-working closely with the board to create a budget for the following season/year

Additionally, the treasurer may work with other board members to review and write program policies. A very good understanding of accounting and finance is required for this position. The board (including the treasurer) meets once per month; most of our meetings are conducted via Zoom but occasionally we will meet in person.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Support and training will be readily provided by our previous (now retired) treasurer.

Working Conditions: -work from home, meet once a month (often via Zoom and occasionally in person in Elmira)
-time needed to maintain financial records throughout the month and create a monthly summary
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month (September to May); evenings from 6:45pm to approximately 8:00pm. Most meetings will be conducted via Zoom; occasional in-person meetings will be at the Woolwich Memorial Centre, Elmira. The Annual General meeting is held in May; additional time will be required to prepare the yearly financial report.
