Virtual Reading Buddy

Impact Statement Our Reading Buddy program provides students in Grades 2 to 4 an opportunity to practice their reading in a fun and supportive learning environment. As a Reading Buddy, you will encourage reluctant readers to read aloud, offer reading strategies when needed, and play literacy-based games. Reading Buddies want to share their love of reading with children and are able to provide children with fun, safe learning space. This program is hosted on Zoom by a staff member; volunteers will participate in group games and be put into break out rooms so that they can read one-on-one with their little buddy.
