SPECTRUM is Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space. Our vision is of an inclusive community where all 2SLGBTQ+ individuals are welcomed, celebrated, and supported as their authentic selves.
SPECTRUM Outings is a biweekly group that runs on Sundays to walk or hike a trail in Waterloo Region. Join 2SLGBTQ+ adults 18+ for some fresh air and socializing.

Description
As a co-facilitator for SPECTRUM Outings, volunteers will be expected to welcome visitors, introduce them to others present, inform them of SPECTRUM resources if fitting, and facilitate and direct the conversations when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience//What You Bring to the Team:
-Lived experience as a 2SLGBTQ+ individual aged 20+
-Social and group facilitation skills
-Interest in the outdoors and knowledge of local trails and parks
-A genuine interest in people and their stories
-Emotional intelligence and emotional regulation
-Ability to make others feel comfortable and create a welcoming space welcome of all
-Active listening skills, being comfortable listening more than speaking
-First Aid and CPR training would be beneficial

Training Details: Volunteers will receive orientation and training in facilitation and other items as needed.
Working Conditions: In-person meetings, outdoors
Transportation: NONE Needed

Duration: 3 months or less
Weekend - Daytime
Probably once a month on Sunday morning
