   About the Position

Impact Statement
To proudly provide valued services and build community and Corporate capacity by inspiring volunteers, staff, elected officials and all community members to be active contributions to Kitchener's Community Vision.

Description
The City of Kitchener is working to improve some of our parks and open spaces to better meet the needs of the community. One of the ways we will be doing this is going directly to community members and asking them what they value/like and how they would like to improve neighbourhood parks.
This is a varied role, and you could do one, or more of the following activities:
• Work with staff to collect information and/or feedback;
• Encourage residents to participate;
• Walk through a park or open space and direct residents to the engagement tent;
• Answer questions and direct difficult questions to staff;
• Set up and take down;
• Hand out marketing items and parks engagement information; and/or
• so much more!

You will be notified as opportunities arise and will have the option to participate as much or as little as they want, however, to remain an active volunteer you must volunteer for at least one shift between March and November.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: • Part of the application form
• Email with details about the volunteer shift sent 2 -3 days prior to the shift
• Hands on training the day of the volunteer shift

Working Conditions: • Many of the opportunities will take place outdoors in parks and open spaces
• Other locations may include city facilities

Accessibility: Support Newcomers
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening
Volunteers must commit the volunteer for a minimum of 1 shift (approximately 2 -4 hours) between March - November
Engagement dates and times will vary
