   About the Position

Impact Statement
This program provides technology guidance to older adults and adults with different abilities who need assistance accessing Community Support Connections’ virtual programming. Each partnership is unique and volunteers work to address the specific digital literacy needs of each client.

Description
- Arrange weekly or bi-weekly visits, either in-person, over the phone or through video chat
- Identify needs of clients related to their digital capacity
- Support clients one-on-one to ensure they have the digital skills necessary to feel comfortable and confident using the iPads features and functions to access a variety of virtual programs and applications
- Experience or interest in working with older adults and/or adults with different abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to respond to questions in a clear, respectful manner
- Must have a demonstrated interest and existing proficiency in iPads and technology and knowledge of the following applications: Google Chrome, Gmail, Zoom, FaceTime etc.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: All volunteers will receive agency wide and program specific training before they are matched with a client.
The Program Coordinator is available to discuss concerns and to provide ongoing support, as needed.

Community Support Connections offers regular volunteer educational workshops on various topics. All volunteers are notified of upcoming sessions.
Working Conditions: Depending on comfort level of clients and volunteers, this role will provide support via face-to-face meetings in a client's home, a digital/telephone platform (phone, Zoom, Skype, etc) or some combination of the two.
Clients and their homes are pre-screened by staff.

Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Anytime
Flexible time commitment. Visits are scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both volunteer and client.
