Volunteer with our Hospitality Crew as we prepare and present food for our Build Site and ReStore volunteers

Description
Daily outcomes for this opportunity:
• Make snacks and lunches that are served to our volunteers
• Track kitchen inventory and communicate when products are low
• Clean/Disinfect the kitchen at the end of each shift
• Have a safe workspace by following all safety protocols
• Satisfied volunteers
Our expectations:
• You are 14 yrs. of age or older
• Commitment for a minimum of one day a week
• Commitment to volunteer care
• To cook and follow simple recipes.
• You know how to use an oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee machine
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability
to establish rapport with volunteers, staff, and donors.
• Self-directed to carry out daily tasks.
• Flare for food presentation.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: • Habitat Waterloo Region Hospitality Orientation
• Training on food safety and the importance of cleaning
• Tour of the Build Site
• Learning the day-to-day procedures and volunteer processes
Working Conditions: • Small kitchen space
• Some moments of stress and feeling under pressure
• Potential burns
• Working with knives and other cutting equipment
• Working in fluctuating temperatures
• Prolonged periods of standing

Weekday - Daytime
Shifts 9:30am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday
