Impact Statement From 2023-2024, volunteer efforts helped The Food Bank distribute 5.7 million pounds of food to the Community Food Assistance Network - a system of 120+ programs and agency partners - throughout Waterloo Region.

Description Brand Ambassadors are the face of The Food Bank to the public during events in the community.
This is a great opportunity for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who would like to learn more about The Food Bank and its operations.
Duties and Responsibilities - Greeting public and accepting donations at events (cash and food) - Some events require solicitation for food and funds - Some events require accepting donations - Initiating conversations with the public about The Food Bank and how we impact our community - Assisting with the setup and tear down of events

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Volunteers attend a phone interview, followed by reference check. They are then required to attend an onsite orientation session prior to their first volunteer shift. Working Conditions: - Standing for long periods of time - Working indoors and outdoors in all sorts of weather conditions - Lift up to 40 lbs. moving food donations Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: Special event Anytime Flexible shifts ranging 2-5 hours per event, depending on time of year and workload. Shifts are generally during the evenings and weekends but can take place during regular business hours. This is not a regularly recurring position, but sporadic in nature as events come up throughout the year.
