   About the Position

Impact Statement
The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario. The museum tells the story of Waterloo Region, as well as showcasing local and traveling exhibits from around the world.

Curiosity Camp is a dynamic, fun-filled program designed to spark creativity and ignite a passion for learning in children. This camp offers a variety of hands-on activities, including science experiments, art projects, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises. Each week, campers explore the museum, its exhibits, and outdoor spaces. Kids at Curiosity Camp are empowered to embrace their curiosity!

Description
Provide assistance to staff with the preparation and delivery of children's activities and crafts throughout the summer. Curiosity Day Camps for children ages 5-11 years run from June 30th through August 29th. Each week of camp will have a different theme.

This is a great opportunity for high school students to accumulate the volunteer hours they need for graduation!
This position is ideal for volunteers who are interested in developing their leadership skills.
Experience working or interacting with children is preferred but not required.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Volunteers will always be directly supervised by staff. Position specific training will be provided.
Working Conditions: Camp activities take place indoors and outdoors. Volunteers may need to help set up yard games, craft materials, items for outdoor play, move tables, chairs, etc. Volunteers must be able to tolerate outdoor summer temperatures and participate in energetic activities for long periods of time.

Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 3 months or less
Weekday - Daytime
Volunteer shifts are available 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Monday to Friday during July and August.
