SPECTRUM is Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space. Our vision is of an inclusive community where all 2SLGBTQ+ individuals are welcomed, celebrated, and supported as their authentic selves.
In partnership with Stanley Park Community Centre and Stanley Park Community Association we are pleased to provide a new weekly multi-sport program for 2SLGBTQ+ people at the Stanley Park Community Centre.

Description
We are seeking multiple conveners for this drop-in program. You will be responsible for fostering a safe and welcoming environment and leading participants in one of several indoor sports each week.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience / What You Bring to the Team:
-Lived experience as a 2SLGBTQ+ individual
-Social and group facilitation skills
-A genuine interest in people and their stories
-Emotional intelligence and emotional regulation
-Ability to make others feel comfortable and create a welcoming space welcome of all
-Active listening skills, being comfortable listening more than speaking

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Volunteers will receive orientation and training in facilitation and other items as needed.
Working Conditions: The group will meet weekly on Saturday afternoons from 1-2pm at the Stanley Park Community Centre from September 10-December 3. Dates for Kinbridge are TBD.
Accessibility: Accessible work space
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime
The group will meet weekly on Saturday afternoons from 12:15-2pm at the Stanley Park Community Centre.
