   About the Position

Impact Statement
Parkwood Mennonite Home is a Long Term Care and Retirement home that seeks to provide services that meet the ever-changing physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs of each resident.

Parkwood Seniors Community located in Waterloo is a campus to:
• Parkwood Mennonite Home, a Long-Term Care Home for 96 residents
• Parkwood Suites Retirement Residence, a retirement residence providing Independent, Supportive and Assisted Living across 77 suites and apartments
• 18 condominium style Garden Homes for seniors living independently
• Health and Wellness Centre for all seniors in Waterloo Region.

This volunteer position involves ensuring a safe and pleasurable environment for residents. Roles are available in long-term care, and retirement suites. The roles involve meal services, one-to-one visiting, housekeeping, laundry and screening.

Emergency Response Team opportunities include:
• Meal service (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
• One-to-one visiting
• High touch cleaning / housekeeping
• Folding laundry
• Screening
If you are a retired registered staff or have a designation, please let us know.

Given the transmissibility of the omicron variant safety measures include:
• All eligible team members, caregivers and volunteers are required to have booster of covid-19 vaccine.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required while in the home, including a mask, goggles/shield, gown, gloves.
• Mandatory education will be provided
• Diligently practice infection prevention and control measures
