Volunteer Driver

Client Support Volunteer

Hospice of Waterloo Region

   About the Position

Impact Statement
Hospice Volunteers provide emotional and social support, companionship and practical help to people with a life limiting illness and their families. Volunteers enrich people's lives by sharing their gifts of listening, caring, friendship, humour, respite care, and time.

Transportation Volunteers are vital to successfully transporting clients with a life-limiting illness to and from medical appointments. Transportation Volunteers also help client to attend our day program on Tuesdays in Kitchener and Thursdays in Cambridge. Day Program Drivers can choose to either drop off or pick up our clients, or do both if time allows.

Hospice tries to match our clients with the same volunteer driver as much as possible so that volunteers have the opportunity to build rapport and offer emotional support while travelling to and from their appointments or programs.
