Description We are seeking a resident aged 55+ who can provide an age-friendly perspective to help with the "Love My Hood Selection Committee Member. The committee works to select successful applications in an equitable and fair manner to ensure that each application meets the grant criteria as approved by Council. Volunteers must live, work or own property in Kitchener. The Love My Hood Matching Grant awards up to $30,000 for neighbourhood projects that: • Renew a neighbourhood public or green space • Contribute to neighbourhood beautification or celebration • Foster a sense of neighbourhood pride and belonging • Build stronger relationships between neighbours and neighbourhood groups • Improve safety, accessibility and/or mobility • Inspire residents to become more involved in their neighbourhoods by working together
1 year term starting March 2023
Application deadline is Tuesday February 7, 2023

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Training is provided prior to the first meeting. Working Conditions: In-person meetings 4 times per year
Addition time will be required to review and comment on grant applications Accessibility: Support volunteers with special needs, Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Evening Committee meets a minimum of 4 times a year (March, May, August and November) typically in the evenings. First meeting is Thursday March 16, 2023 from 5 – 8 p.m. Additional time will be required to review and comment on grant applications.
Deadline for applications is Friday January 7, 2022
