Impact Statement You will assist in the process of "Reducing, Reusing, Recycling" AND help to raise valuable resources for peace and justice programs in Canada and around the world. Thrift on Kent is a part of a non-for-profit network of Thrift Shops that raise funds to support the local and global relief, development and peace projects of Mennonite Central Committee.

Description Able to safely move various furniture pieces using 2 wheel and 4 wheel dollies -basic cleaning of furniture both hard surface and upholstery -assemble furniture that is donated in pieces -do basic repairs on furniture; this could be tightening screws/bolts, gluing, refastening/tacking on back plates, stapling dust covers -applying basic touch up and scratch repair -Safely removing sold furniture items from the store and stocking new items for sale in the store -comfortable working independently -choosing appropriate furniture pieces for sale or to dispose of -help unload furniture off the truck after pick ups -Additional tasks as needed

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: In-house training and job shadowing provided Working Conditions: Fast paced team setting, interaction with diverse customers and volunteers. May require standing, freedom of movement and some moderate lifting. Accessibility: Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime 3 to 4 hour shifts weekly.
