   About the Position

By joining THEMUSEUM's team, you help us educate and inspire our guests in a fun-filled and supportive setting. We are an engaging, enthusiastic team and are looking for like-minded individuals who love to interact with their community. With ever-changing exhibitions and programming, THEMUSEUM presents a stimulating opportunity for a volunteer placement.

THEMUSEUM is looking for energetic, and bright volunteers to join our team! As a Guest Services Volunteer, you will get involved in important functions of our upcoming Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED Exhibition, such as, assisting at the Guest Services desk or exhibition entrance by assisting to check-in guests, relaying information & instructions about the exhibition experience, and directing traffic for the exhibition.

Primary duties & responsibilities:

•Work alongside ITHEMUSEUM floor-staff and other volunteers by providing excellent customer service to guests.
•Public-facing role, expected to be able to converse & interact with guests including:
o Directing traffic within THEMUSEUM
o Answering guest questions
o Orienting visitors to the space
o Relaying information & instructions about the exhibition experience
o Assist guest at Coat Check if stationed there

Position Qualifications

Ideal for: An Individual, A Group, Student Placement
Age: 12+
COVID-19 Vactionation Required: Yes

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Wednesday November 17, 6pm – 9pm, Saturday November 20, 10am – 1pm, Sunday November 21, 2pm – 5pm. Tour the exhibition on November 29 from 10am – 2pm.

Dates are subject to change due to the install of the exhibition

If beginning to volunteer after The Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED has opened, a date for orientation and training will be arranged with you.
Working Conditions: •Time spent active listening
•All sites will be playing music related to the subject matter & there may be some louder music experiences throughout the exhibition
•Must be comfortable standing for periods of time
•Must be able to lift a minimum of 10lbs

Time Commitment

Duration: 3 months or less
Start Date:2021-11-29
End Date:2022-03-20
Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening, Anytime
4 hour per week, weekdays or weekends. Duration of commitment varies from one month to the duration of the exhibition (approximately 3.5 months)
