   About the Position

Impact Statement
Our Volunteers are the heart of our organization. They play a vital role in our mission to empower those whose lives are impacted by cancer to improve their emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. They make a difference in their communities by donating their time and skills in supporting and inspiring cancer patients, their caregivers, and their families.

Description
Peer support program aims to support anyone who is affected by cancer through the use of reflective listening. Peer Support will help members feel connected to their communities and assist in reducing the effects of loneliness, social isolation and identify high risk members. It will provide internal and external referral, suggest community events to participate, and it will be responsible for establishing and maintaining regular conversation through zoom or telephone with assigned members for the purpose of providing them with company, companionship, and a connection with their community.

Age: 18+

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Volunteer will receive Introduction to HopeSpring, Peer Support training, Self-Care training and Mental Health training.
Working Conditions: Independent with some guidance and support. Virtual - Zoom

Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Anytime
We offer Peer Support to members on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM and Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
