Peer support group facilitator

Living with Loss for adults grieving a death by substance use

Bereaved Families of Ontario - Midwestern Region

   About the Position

Impact Statement
Your grief experience can bring hope and healing to someone else. All of our programs are facilitated by volunteer facilitators who are themselves bereaved. Hearing experiences, stories and coping strategies from a peer has a profound effect on people who are grieving and helps normalize the grief experience. You get it. You've been there.

Description
We are currently accepting applications for individuals interested in becoming peer facilitators for our Living with Loss group for adults grieving a death by substance use. Working with a co-facilitator who has also experienced a drug or alcohol-related death, peer support volunteers lead our monthly support group and create a safe space for group members to share stories and support one another through this type of loss.
