Impact Statement
Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) Volunteers create a welcoming and friendly face to patients and visitors.

Volunteer to create an Exceptional Entrance for people entering CMH!

We are seeking volunteers to:
- “Welcome” with a smile & offer assistance
- Provide an opportunity for hand hygiene.
- Give directions and escort patients and visitors based on requests from the visitor or directions from Screening staff
- Be well versed of all areas of the hospital and keep up-to-date of any changes related to the Capital Redevelopment Project
- When time permits, ensure sufficient wheelchairs at all entrances
- Always be available to the public
- Visit with people in the lobby areas if time permits

Age: 16+

COVID-19 Vaccination Required: Yes

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Will be trained once onboarded and medically cleared (including on-site TB test). Volunteers must provide proof of two COVID19 vaccinations.
Working Conditions: It is expected that all volunteers will actively participate in maintaining a safe workplace in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by using the required personal protective equipment and by reporting any hazard or danger to management.
• Report all workplace injuries to the Volunteer Coordinator and Health Safety and Wellness.
• Practice meticulous hand hygiene as mandated in “Just clean your hands”.
• Actively participate in patient safety walkabouts when asked about the area(s) you volunteer in.
• Practice WHMIS safety guidelines and other OHS training, as applicable.
• Apply Emergency Response principles during code procedures by following instruction given by the Lead Staff member in your area.

Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
2-3 hour shifts.
Earliest shift starts at 7am, latest shift goes until 7pm.
Volunteer shifts available 7 days a week.
