   About the Position

Impact Statement
New Hamburg Thrift Centre volunteer cashiers make a difference to the customers served by creating a friendly and welcoming environment where they walk away feeling respected and valued.

Cashiers are needed to assist customers at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre. Volunteer cashiers assist customers by processing cash, debit/credit payments and packaging purchases. Volunteers will need to work quickly and accurately with multiple tasks. Trustworthy with money is definitely required. Competence of English language a necessity. Volunteers must be friendly and treat customers with patience and respect.

Age: 14+

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: In-house training and job shadowing provided.
Working Conditions: Volunteers are working in a fast paced environment, interacting with diverse customers. Position requires standing the majority of time and moderate lifting (max. 20 lbs)
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space

Time Commitment

Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
Friday: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturday: AM & PM shifts available
