Impact Statement Our volunteer Board of Directors are vital towards our success in making a difference in our community. At this time, those with social work or lived victim service experience would be a tremendous asset to grow our quality of care and responsiveness, both internally and externally. As a small nonprofit organization, each member plays a key role towards the overall health, strength, and effectiveness of our agency – including financially. We estimate a time commitment of 8 to 10 hours per month for each Board Member.

Description We currently have a special need for individuals who bring: A) current or past experience in the field of social work, and/or B) firsthand lived experience with victim service supports. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Regularly attend Board meetings: 11 per year, including AGM (approx. 2 hr. meetings) - Participate in at least one committee (currently include Finance, Audit/Investment; Governance; Human Resources, Nominations, & Risk Management). - Support fundraising efforts and events and make an annual donation to the agency. - Provide assistance as requested by the ED: Requests are based on the expertise of the board member (ie. policing, legal, fundraising). - Participate in an ad hoc committee as needed.

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Evening Board meetings are currently held on the first Monday of each month from 6-8pm. Time commitment of approximately 8-10 hours per month.
