Impact Statement MCC thrift volunteers assist in the process of "Reducing, Reusing, Recycling" AND help to raise valuable resources for peace and justice programs in Canada and around the world. Thrift on Kent is a part of a non-for-profit network of Thrift Shops that raise funds to support the local and global relief, development and peace projects of Mennonite Central Committee.

Description Volunteers are responsible to receive donations from donors, thanking each person with sincerity. Be responsible for the initial sort of the donations. Learn donation guidelines on what items are acceptable to receive and relay this information to donors. Share information about the shop and the work of Mennonite Central Committee and how MCC uses the money raised.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: In-house training and job shadowing provided Working Conditions: Fast paced team setting, interaction with diverse customers and volunteers. May require standing, freedom of movement and some moderate lifting. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime 3 to 4 hour shifts weekly.
