Impact Statement
LUMEN is an annual, free, all ages festival that is open to the public and run by the City of Waterloo's Arts and Culture team. The event features the work of artists as they explore the interplay of light, art and technology in installations located throughout uptown Waterloo on September 21, 2024.

Description
Lumen takes place in UpTown Waterloo and volunteers will be a key part of helping the public move from site to site and in helping get each site prepared and takedown. Join us on September 21, 2024 in the evening and help us celebrate the amazing things this community has to offer!
Volunteers needed for the following shifts:
Festival Assistant - 8:00pm to 11:15pm
- provide customer service, walk the festival to hand out information or answer questions, provide directions, assist with line-ups, help artists
- must have good communication skills and enjoy interacting with the public
Tear-Down - from 11:00pm to 12:30am
- assist with tear-down/ clean up of tables, chairs, tents, signs, etc.
- must be age 16+ and able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
Groups welcome to volunteer but each person must complete an application separately.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: To be provided by staff. Online training September 18. Details will be provided by staff running the event to volunteers who sign up.
Working Conditions: This is an outdoor event. Volunteers must dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed footwear. Workboots recommended for set-up or tear-down. Shifts are outdoors in various weather conditions.
