Description
Volunteers provide support to children 6 and under in licensed home or centre-based care.
Through games and activities, volunteers aid in the development of children's problem solving skills, pro-social skills, self-management of behaviour and coping skills. Volunteers also have the opportunity to promote wellness using their own skills and knowledge of health and wellness (yoga, Brain Gym, physical fitness, etc.). Volunteers are connected with a Resource Consultant and will provide support to children in the class.
Activities may include:
- participating in structured games,
- reading and playing with children,
- role modelling positive behaviours, and
- providing support to help children navigate through their daily routines and activities.

Age: 18+ English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Work Without Supervision

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Orientation and training is provided by KW Habilitation.
Working Conditions: Working with preschoolers. Inside and outside activities.
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Daytime
2-4 hours per week between the hours of 9 am -6 pm.
