   About the Position

Help young parents and their families achieve their brightest futures.

Description
This position involves providing care to children ages 3-months to 4 years of age, while parents remain onsite and utilize the time to clean their rooms, do laundry, make a meal, have a rest, etc. This program is offered year-round and is closed during all stat holidays.

In this role, volunteers:

Help supervise and care for children while their parents remain onsite to complete chores or attend program.
Clean and change diapers when needed.
Assist with feeding, snack preparation and distribution.
Engage in age-appropriate games and activities with children.
Help with set-up and clean-up of program space, if necessary.
Create a fun and welcoming environment.
Attend scheduled shifts and keep track of your time; enter hours using VicNet.
Notify staff when absent.

COVID-19 Vaccination Required: Yes

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Orientation to position and organization provided.
Working Conditions: Volunteers will join us Monday evenings from 5pm to 7pm at our Ainslie Street hub.
Once volunteer screening is completed, a minimum 3-month commitment is required.
Please note, this program relies on volunteer support in order to operate. Please only consider this role if you know you will be able to commit to a minimum of 3 months.

Follow all health guidelines (hand sanitizing, maintain distance, etc.)
Observe scent-free environment as per Camino policy.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom
Transportation: On a bus route


Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
Weekday - Evening
Volunteers will join us Monday evenings from 5pm to 7pm at our Ainslie Street hub.
