   About the Position

Impact Statement
Volunteers provide friendship and companionship to housebound and socially isolated clients. Each friendship is unique and volunteers create a sense of belonging within our community.

As a Tele-visitor, you'd arrange a time where you can either call or skype (granted you both have the technology) a socially isolated individual at once a week (or bi-weekly) for 1 – 3 hours. Flexible time commitment. Visits are scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both volunteer and client. A four month commitment is required for this position.

Educational background, work experience or prior volunteer experience in mental health, or social services an asset.

Age: 18+ English Proficiency, Confidentiality, Work Without Supervision

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: -Your Program Coordinator is always available to discuss concerns and to provide ongoing support, as needed.
-CSC offers regular volunteer educational workshops on various topics. All volunteers are notified of upcoming sessions. You would be required to complete AODA training as well as Establishing Healthy Boundaries training prior to starting your role.

Working Conditions: Tele-Visit client, unsupervised, working with older adults and/or adults with disability.

Time Commitment

Duration: 4 - 6 months
