Volunteers will help prepare meals and serve for Waterloo Home Support, Community Dining

Do you enjoy cooking? We are looking for a volunteer to help prepare and serve weekday lunches for the Waterloo Home Support Community Dining Program.

Volunteers will assist with preparing, serving, clearing, etc. This volunteer role is a great fit if you enjoy being part of a team, can understand and follow instructions then work with minimal direction, have great communication skills in English, have a neat appearance, and enjoy a fast-paced and friendly environment.

Position Qualifications

Age: 18+
English Proficiency

Area(s) of Interest: Caring Support, Food/Hospitality, Senior Services

Skill(s): Customer Service, Collaboration, Communicate in Plain Language, Decision-Making/Prioritizing, Measuring

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Orientation and training is provided by program staff.
Working Conditions: Kitchen familiarity and experience with older adults is an asset.
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment

Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Daytime
One weekday per week from 9:30am to 1:15pm - on call basis
