Impact Statement
Volunteers enable our residents and tenants to get to the hairdressing salon for their appointments. Without their help it would be difficult for residents and tenants to get there. They are vital to the salon's success!

Description
The Reflections Beauty and Barber Salon at Sunnyside Home is open on Tuesdays. Hairdressing Assistants are needed to accompany residents to and from the salon and assist with light duties in the salon. Volunteers will not be cutting or styling hair.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Volunteer Orientation is provided by organization and new volunteers use the buddy system with another volunteer to learn the position.
Working Conditions: This position requires a lot of walking, and the ability to push wheelchairs, and encourage/motivate residents to come to hairdressing.
Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Accessible work space
Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Daytime
3 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. Current need is Tuesday mornings, 9 - 12 and afternoons 1 - 4:00 on a weekly basis.
