   About the Position

Impact Statement
Parkwood has an active volunteer program. As a volunteer, you become an integral member of the Parkwood Community along with the residents and staff. Our intention is to provide each volunteer with a meaningful and rewarding experience that also has great value to the residents of Parkwood.

We appreciate the caring support of our volunteers and always welcome new members. We have many volunteer positions available to suit your interests and availability. You will be provided general orientation as well as training specific to your volunteer placement. You will always have the ongoing support of staff, who are very appreciative of our volunteers.

Description
We are opening a new café in our new independent living building. We are looking for volunteers to oversee the café. Tasks includes, serving coffee, tea and other beverages, selling and re-stocking quick grocery pick up items and some light cleaning and other assigned tasks. There will be a number of shifts, both morning and afternoon to choose from throughout the week with a duration of two hours.

Volunteers must have good communication skills, English proficiency, organizational skills, be comfortable with handling money, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training on cafe procedures and equipment is provided. Coffee machines are all automatic, so it's easy!
Working Conditions: Delphine and Lloyd Martin Apartments(DLMA) is an accessible facility. If you require any accommodation to assist you please let us know.

Time Commitment

Duration: 7 - 12 months
Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
A volunteer commitment of 2 hours per session - weekday afternoons
