Description
We are seeking volunteers who can provide support as a homework helper for children/youth in Kitchener & Cambridge. Ideal volunteers will have some tutoring experience, but they should be patient, have good rapport with children/youth and be flexible. They will assist child/youth with learning challenges including reading, writing, homework and studying. Provide a non-judgmental listening ear. Visit the child on a regular, consistent basis and on agreed upon dates and times. Build a positive relationship and be a positive role model. Maintain confidentiality and boundaries.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Volunteers will receive agency orientation and training once they are accepted as a volunteer.
Working Conditions: Access to a vehicle is not mandatory but having access to a vehicle may make matching more likely depending on location of client. Volunteers may be asked to perform this role in a variety of locations throughout the community.
