   About the Position

Impact Statement
Are you passionate about making a difference for seniors in our community? Do you have mad skills relating to finance, book keeping, budgeting? Then we would be excited for you to join our team of dedicated board members.

Description
We are currently looking for a treasurer for our board of directors to oversee and support financial book keeping for our organization. We use a cloud based QuickBooks software for posting and reconciling our financials. Experience with bookkeeping, accounting and Quickbooks software is an asset.

You would be working directly with our Program Director and supporting the posting and uploading of expenses, accruals, etc. and helping to keep us on target and up to date. Additional work on our board includes creating our Strategic Plan, reviewing and writing program policies, overseeing operations, fundraising opportunities and providing support to the staff and program volunteers.

A good understanding of accounting and finance is required with monthly duties of posting and ensuring we are up to date on our financial reporting to our funders.

A police check will be required for this position.

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: An orientation to the program and Board role is provided through mentoring.

Working Conditions: Meetings are done via Zoom video conferencing monthly. Additional hours are required for maintenance of financial reports.

Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Meetings are held the last Tuesday of the month (excluding July, August and December) via Zoom platform. Evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Annual General meeting is held in June. Extra time is required during the month for posting and reconciling financial reports.
